Ninth through Twelfth Grades
Further your child’s critical thinking and self expression! Let your child explore the world around them to offer them opportunities or foster the interests your child already has! Create the balance in your families life that allows studying to happen based around what’s important to your child, such as sports, traveling, or volunteering.
What to Expect
As your child develops their own sense of self, they will naturally want to learn on their own and realize that mom and dad cannot have all the answers! Golden Coast Academy provides the flexibility to seek out curricula that works for your child, or seek out the specialist you’d like your child to learn from. But, if you’re a rocket scientist you probably should teach your children physics!
High school is different from our elementary grades in that you need to declare what class you’re taking before you start them. Golden Coast Academy has a number of course outlines from you to pick from, use published curriculum, or you can work with us to develop your own! These classes are listed on your child’s transcript.

High School Graduation F.A.Q.s
Can I Switch Tracks?
Yes, however, it may be more challenging to switch to a more rigorous track if you decide to switch back later.
What happens if I enroll in the middle of high school?
When we request your records from your current school, your records will be evaluated for our transcript. If you’ve transferred from an accredited school, you’ll most likely receive 1:1 credit for all your classes. If you’re coming from homeschooling, you’ll need to provide documentation for any classes you’ve completed.
Do you offer dual enrollment?
Your children may take high school and college classes at the same time, and we encourage it for may reasons. They may not be enrolled in two high schools at the same time.
Can I transfer during my senior year?
Yes, though you will be required to take a full year of each class that you’re enrolled in, including an English class, to graduate from Golden Coast Academy. You can work through these classes as quickly as you want, or move at your own pace.
Do I have to use the same textbooks as my local schools?
No! You may choose any program you like. You may choose any mathematics option, such as the integrated series, or the traditional Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 progression.
Can I create my own elective or specialty class?
Yes! You can create your own elective class to create your own high school program. We’ll help you turn your idea into a program of study that is equivalent to the time spent in class.
